The Greys is one of the more well known Extraterrestrial species that have (and still) visited Earth. It's unclear why they come to Earth and what they want, however many confirmed reports over the last five decades prove that this highly advanced race of beings are coming to the human world for a purpose. What that purpose is has yet to be revealed although it is likely that they are studying us for research.
History
The origin of the Grey species is open for debate considering the evidence found that suggest they have been visiting Earth for thousands of years. According to reports, Greys come in two distinct morphs that differ in height.[ Abductees say that they recognize the leader of their abductors by its "demeanor." Their increased authority, height, and apparently more complex psychology have caused some abduction researchers to wonder if the taller morph is the only "Grey" type to be biologically alive and if the shorter "form" could be their artificially constructed robot or cyborg servants. During the early 1980s Greys were linked to the crash landing of a flying saucer in Roswell New Mexico, in 1947, by a number of publications which contained statements from witnesses who claimed to have seen the U.S. military capturing a number of unusually proportioned, bald, child-sized beings. The witnesses claimed that the beings had over-sized heads and slanted eyes—but scant other facial features—during and after the incident. However this was later confirmed not the be the Greys but the Zeta Reticulans
In 1987 popular novelist Whitley Strieber published the book Communion, in which he describes a number of close encounters he purports to have experienced with Greys and other extraterrestrial beings. The book became a New York Times bestseller, and a film adaption starring Christopher Walken was released in 1989.
The Greys are said to be in conflict with the Reptilians over humans and Earth. According to a man named Branton they intervened on two seprate occassions when the Reptilians tried to invade/enslave the human world. Once over 12,000 years ago and the last time during the 1950's. Allegedly the Reptilians succeded in their infiltration of the world governments and the Greys are now trying to prevent them from destroying human civilization, this is said to eventually lead them into a full scale war with Drakon, the Reptilian home world. If such an event were to take place then humans will be pulled right in the middle of the conflict.
Misconceptions & Different Races
Many times, the Greys have been mistaken for other extraterrestrial species that look similar in appearence. One of the most common misconceptions is that the Greys are the ones who crash landed in Roswell. Also the ET's encountered by Betty & Barney Hill are offten mistaken for being the Greys, in both incidents it was the Zeta Reticulans who were the ones responsible, due to their similar appearence to the Greys they are often mistaken for each other. There are many races of Greys, the races are currently unknown, some are here for benevolent reasons, others are here for neither benevolent or malevolent. The ones here for neither are trying to save their own race, but for studying humans and trying to understand why they are so violent. All of the Grey civilizations are peaceful, and many are trying to figure the violence in humans. They don't understand the violence because they don't know what it is. Others come here to help people spiritually evolve, when people are evolved enough, when the time is right, if they so chose they can leave with the greys to their home world.

The actual name of the Greys are called "Potacas", there main purpose is as scouts for the U.F.O.I.G.P - United Federation Of Inter-Galatic Planets, they are part of the G.O.D.; Genetic Ordance Department within the U.F.O.I.G.P, the main purpose of this dept with the federation is too collate information based on DNA and RNA in relation to the types of Diseases which are inflicting Human Beings on Earth.
When people are taken, it is said they are not hurt and 9/10 do not wake up during the examination procedure, most are put to sleep via sound vibration using Beta waves which effect certain areas of the brain and cause a sleep type effect upon the body and mind of the individual. The most common procedure is a blood sample and a hair sample for DNA and RNA anaylsis to detect the changes within the human species on earth, this has been going on for thousands of years and is standard procedure when recording the evolution of a new species of human being on 4 levels.
Physically, Mentally, Emtionally and Spiritually, the Potacas are friendly and non-violent, the only time they use force is if they are attacked and then they use telepathy to disarm the individual which causes no after effects to the individual.
